Chicago Team 1 wins 9th Annual CIRT-ACE National Design Competition

The VOA-mentored team’s “Park City” entry took first place at the D.C. finals.

On behalf of VOA, I would like to congratulate the ACE Illinois/Chicago Team 1 for placing 1st at today’s 9th Annual CIRT-ACE Mentor National Design Competition. Team 1, mentored by VOA Chicago, was one of three national finalist teams that competed in the final presentation round of the CIRT-ACE National Design Competition on April 27, 2015 in Washington, D.C. Mentor Stacy Horan of Sargent & Lundy accompanied Team 1’s Jamie Wiberg, Lisette Velazquez, Raphael Scott and Joshua Vasquez to the final competition in Washington, D.C. Team 1’s Park City entry for the City Centre Challenge is a master plan for new construction and rejuvenation of an underutilized area near the Chicago River. Its five zones include a recreation center, landscaped amphitheater, skate park, food truck park and dog park.
