Integrated Project Delivery at SCUP’s 50th

Bill Ketcham and Johnson Center team will discuss IPD process

This month, I will join members of the North Park University Johnson Center team including Carl Balsam (North Park University), David Olson (W.B. Olson), Ken Greve (The Boldt Company) and Richard Jamerson (Jamerson & Bauwens Electrical Contractors) in a discussion the IPD process and the outcomes of the Johnson Center project at NPU. The design and construction of the Johnson Center utilized the tri-party (owner, architect, construction manager) Integrated Project Delivery (IPD) method. This is the first higher education tri-party IPD Agreement used in the Chicago area and it fostered the free exchange of information and mutual trust between all parties involved. The Johnson Center was certified LEED Gold by the USGBC and won a 2014 Excellence in Engineering Award by the Illinois Chapter of the American Society of Heating, Refrigerating and Air-Conditioning Engineers (ASHRAE) and a 2015 Gold Building Team Award by Building Design + Construction.

Join us at SCUP’s 50th annual international conference in Chicago from July 11-15. The panel on Integrated Project Delivery: From Planning to Delivery takes place Wednesday July 15th from 8:30– 9:30am.
