Reforesting the City at IIT Cloud Studio | Video

Chris Groesbeck and Monika Thadhani featured in a short film

This semester, Monika Thadhani and I had the privilege of teaching at IIT College of Architecture’s Cloud Studio here in Chicago. Our studio, called “Reforesting the City,” explored approaches to redevelopment of the South Loop with nature as a prime inspiration. In the words of Vedran Mimica, it looked at “creating a new model of metropolitan living” in the laboratory setting of Chicago. The Quito, Ecuador-based Drama Films produced the film above, which gives one an overview of the studio, its subject matter and most dramatically, Chicago, VOA’s offices in the Railway Exchange Building and IIT’s Crown Hall as the settings for this exploration.

Look for a wrap-up post on our Cloud Studio “Reforesting the City” experience on the blog soon.
