OLOL RMC team members showcase the details in the award-winning intensive care environment

On January 19th, the 2015 Society of Critical Care Medicine’s Design Citation Award will be presented to Our Lady of the Lake Regional Medical Center and VOA+BBA Design Partnership, LLC during the annual conference of the Society of Critical Care Medicine in Phoenix, Arizona. The award, cosponsored by Society of Critical Care Medicine, American Association of Critical Care Nurses, and AIA Academy on Architecture, recognizes the design of the intensive care environments at Our Lady of the Lake Regional Medical Center in Baton Rouge as representing the most innovative and humanitarian in the United States.

To get a sense of the patient- and family-focused elements of the 60-bed intensive care environment that is part of the hospital’s recently constructed Heart & Vascular Institute, we suggest viewing the video above, produced by Our Lady of the Lake Regional Medical Center. The intensive care team members demonstrate and showcase aspects of the design that create a healing environment, promote safety and a high level of care for the whole person in a flexible space and positive work environment.
