Details:
The Tanzhesi master plan consists of a town center located in a valley of the Mentougou District, Beijing, and 11 mountain villages covering a total development area of 480 hectares, (1,186 acres). This is a historical site consisting of ancient relics such as a 1,400-year-old Tanzhesi temple (a temple that was patronized by emperors of 3 dynasties twice monthly), a Ming dynasty gateway, and ancient trees ranging from 500 – 1,000 years old.
The goal of the master plan is to create a high-end sustainable resort destination that also respects the history and the natural environment of the site. The program includes high-end residential, retail and commercial, an 18-hole golf resort facility, balanced by civic and cultural institutions for a population of 40,000. This master plan respects and celebrates the history by organizing new developments around its historical relics and the natural landscape.
