Details:

Design and renovation work involved expanding a 239,000 square foot space into a 347,000 square foot facility with comprehensive sustainable features.  The centerpiece of the complex is a 34,000 square-foot, four-story fitness training space under a glass barrel vault.  The renovation and design was recognized with the 2010 Outstanding Sports Facility Award from the National Intramural Recreational Sports Association.

The timelessly classical design melds with the campus's traditional Georgian style, but with a contemporary twist. The elevation subtly mimics the Chief’s headdress, the formerly beloved University of Illinois mascot.
