Illinois Department of Natural Resources

The new headquarters building for the Illinois Department of Natural Resources (DNR) consolidates 680 employees of various DNR agencies into one location.  The 200,000 square foot, four-level building includes general office space, an auditorium, cafeteria, an interpretive/education center and parking.  The Interpretive Center, through multimedia presentations and exhibits, serves as an educational gateway for visitors and school tours to the 36-acre Conservation World and provides a link to state parks across Illinois.

Our design approach was energized by the mission of this project - to promote through the built environment an understanding and appreciation of natural resources and to ensure a high quality of life for present and future generations.
