Law Offices of RatnerPrestia

RatnerPrestia, a law firm specializing in intellectual property law, recently decided to relocate and commissioned VOA to develop a new workplace design that better supports their work culture. After studying their work processes and culture, VOA developed a workspace consisting of traditional private offices with open areas for support staff. The generous use of glass on perimeter offices allows daylight to enter the entire space and places all staff no further than twenty feet from the building perimeter.

A large component of the design solution was driven by RatnerPrestia’s desire to accommodate large public functions within the workplace. Flexible use of space was a high priority and one of the main drivers in layout and function. All public-facing spaces are located adjacent to the main entry of the space and are adaptable to a variety of uses: conferencing, banquets, cocktail parties and presentations. Progressive, edgy finishes were chosen as a departure from the dark wood paneling and brass fixtures look of the law firms of previous generations, and are representative of a modern, 21st century workplace.

Creating flexible spaces that facilitate both large and small public functions was a high priority to RatnerPrestia. These areas had to perform as traditional office support spaces by day while transforming into banquet, entertainment and social spaces by night.
