Lisa Chervinsky

With degrees in both Architecture and Hotel Administration, Lisa brings an interdisciplinary approach to design. An understanding of the hospitality industry complements her creative abilities, enabling her to create spaces that are captivating yet responsive to the operational issues concerning hotels. For the last 18 years Lisa has been a principal of Area 39 Architects and is fortunate to have worked with a number of hotel groups including Hyatt, Sheraton, Wyndham and Radisson, in addition to several independent owners. As principal of the firm, Lisa has taken on the lead design direction for numerous projects from conception to completion. Lisa develops her concepts to a very high level by designing custom carpeting, textiles and furniture, millwork and artwork programs. Her attention to detail has ensured the success of her projects and earned longstanding relationships with clients. Prior to attending a graduate program in architecture, Lisa worked for several years as an interior designer for Urban West, Ltd. There she was responsible for programming, design and documentation of a number of projects. Lisa also served as an instructor at Cornell University’s School of Hotel Administration. She taught “Hotel Renovation” at the school’s Center for Professional Development, lecturing on budget, schedule and design issues concerning renovation projects.
