Rock Springs Run at Wekiva State Park, Apopka, Florida
Wekiva makes for a fun low-cost family outing. It’s an ideal spot for tubing down the river, having a picnic or horseback riding. This great park features lots of natural shade and wildlife. We see otters and gators every time we visit.-Joanna Del Moral

Playalinda Beach (Canaveral National Seashore), Florida
I like to drive the backroads to get to this quiet beach and enjoy seeing the foliage change as the shoreline gets closer. After reaching the ranger station and continuing on you are greeted by lagoons and in the distance – Kennedy Space Center. At the end of the journey and past the first couple parking lots, a beautiful natural beach awaits. At this time of year there are more sea turtle nests than people on this fantastic east coast beach.-Stephanie Moss

Santos Trailhead, Ocala, Florida
FUN FUN FUN mountain biking for all levels – beginners to expert. You can huck off a cliff, race, or just ride in the wooded trails.-Alec Sithong

Café Murano, Cranes Roost Park, Altamonte Springs, Florida
I can walk with my daughter to a spot where she chases ducks and other children, then sit back at the café overlooking the park and enjoy a nice brunch.  That’s a complete morning. The Bloody Marys are good, too.-George Mella

Yoga at Lake Eola / Eola Farmer’s Market, Downtown Orlando, Florida
Every Sunday, hundreds flock to Lake Eola to eat brunch, browse the farmer’s market and do yoga on the lawn. This is a fantastic place to pick up local produce, support small businesses, people watch and relax. Lake Eola is known for the swans that wander, swim and nest there, so make sure to take a walk lakeside and enjoy the scenery before hitting the beer garden.-Jennifer Kinsella

My top three? Park Avenue for people watching and wine sipping; Blue Springs for manatee watching and swimming; Lake Maitland for jet skiing and picnicking at Rollins College lake bank.-Claudia Althoff

Hillstone Restaurant, Winter Park, FL
We love Hillstone for the lake front setting, comfy Adirondack chairs, lack of corkage fee, veggie burger, the spinach dip, the herb garden, the fire pit, the music, the happy ducks, the cute squirrely squirrels, the birds chirping, the breezy sunsets and the endless people watching. We advise you to repeat this experience as much as possible. –Brittany Williams and Lizzie Cleary

SeaWorld’s Aquatica, Orlando, Florida
Aquatica is a great family water park with shady areas for resting and rides the family can enjoy together.-Joanna Del Moral
